We’re not pushing Quicken, but it helps to track your gift card spending in a financial management program like Quicken. Just create a cash account called Gene Grawe Fund and show checking account transfers into it and log your outgoing spending just like any other cash account. If you keep it up, you can run a report anytime you want to know your spending for the year. To make your reporting easy just have every gift card purchase, be it Gene Grawe Fund office or through RaiseRight.com, use the same tag. My tag is GGF Gift Cards and every card purchase has that tag. If you don’t use it anywhere else, you can have your custom date range report return only those transactions using the GGF Gift Cards tag.
